You should not make any investment decision based on content from this app. Always consult a licensed financial adviser before making investment decisions. This disclaimer applies throughout these Terms and across all features of the app.

3. Description of Service

Pocket Investor provides:

All content is provided for informational purposes only. The app is a personal finance information tool, not a financial services provider, broker, or investment platform.

Not financial advice — repeated for emphasis.

AI-generated content is produced automatically and is not reviewed or verified by a licensed financial adviser, analyst, or any other financial professional. Content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Do not rely on it to make investment decisions. This is not financial advice.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Pocket Investor. Given the financial nature of the content, we do not offer the app to users under 18. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

If you are using the app on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Breach of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

7. Third-Party Data and Sources

Pocket Investor relies on third-party data and content sources, including:

We are not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from your reliance on third-party data. All market data should be independently verified before use.

8. AI-Generated Content

News summaries and other analytical content displayed in the app are generated automatically by OpenAI's GPT-4o mini large language model. You should be aware that:

This is not financial advice. AI-generated content is for informational purposes only. Do not make any investment decision based on AI-generated summaries or analysis in this app.

9. Intellectual Property

The Pocket Investor app, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by the operator and protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property other than to use the app as permitted by these Terms.

Your personal data and any content you upload to the app (such as your watchlist) remains yours. By storing it in the app, you grant us a limited licence to process and display it for the purpose of providing the service to you.

10. Subscription and Payment

Pocket Investor offers a free tier with limited features. Access to premium features requires an active Pocket Investor Pro subscription.

10.1 Available plans

Three subscription tiers are available: Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase within the app and are subject to change. No prices are hardcoded in these Terms.

10.2 Billing and auto-renewal

10.3 Payment processing

All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (as applicable to your device). Subscription management is handled via RevenueCat. Pocket Investor does not store or have access to your payment card details.

10.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Your access to Pocket Investor Pro features will continue until the end of the current paid period. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of the current period.

10.5 Refunds

Refunds are subject to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable. Pocket Investor does not issue refunds directly. To request a refund, use the refund process provided by the relevant store. Nothing in this section limits any non-excludable rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law regarding refunds for defective services.

10.6 Restore Purchases

If you have previously purchased a Pocket Investor Pro subscription and need to restore access (for example, after reinstalling the app or switching devices), use the “Restore Purchases” option available within the app. Restoration is subject to your Apple ID or Google account retaining an active entitlement.

10.7 Price changes

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Where required by applicable law or App Store / Play Store policies, we will provide you with reasonable advance notice of any price change. Continued use of a subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.

10.8 Trial periods

We may offer free trial periods from time to time. Where a trial is offered, the duration and terms will be clearly described at the time of sign-up. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, you will be charged at the applicable subscription rate. You can cancel a trial at any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for:

Where liability cannot be excluded by law (including under the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted — and where the service is free, to the re-supply of the service or the cost of having the service supplied again.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pocket Investor is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms.

16. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will make a genuine effort to resolve the matter within 30 calendar days.

If we are unable to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation, either party may then seek resolution through the courts of New South Wales in accordance with Section 15.
